My kernel is 2.6.22-r2 with suspend2 patches, CONFIG_PPP=m, CONFIG_PPP_MULTILINK=y, CONFIG_PPP_FILTER=y, CONFIG_PPP_ASYNC=m, CONFIG_PPP_SYNC_TTY=m, CONFIG_PPP_DEFLATE=m, CONFIG_PPP_BSDCOMP=m, CONFIG_PPP_MPPE=m, CONFIG_PPPOE=m and CONFIG_PPP_OATM=m.īasically, I see the ttyUSB(0-2) devices, I can connect (via minicom) but I believe either wvdial or pppd are running into a segmentation fault. My software versions are wvdial 1.60 and ppp 2.4.4. I can tell the card works because I'm sending this message from another laptop. I use a vodafone UMTS card in an Acer TravelMate 4062 and have no obvious hardware issues. My setup worked very well for almost 2 years, but since yesterday I can't connect, getting a segmentation fault once I run wvdial. I have used a wvdial script to connect to the Internet via an UMTS modem.
